My Marriage Problems are A Distant Memory Thanks to Mort Fertel.
Trip #5 to Negril Jamaica and my wife Denise and I are still going strong. What a dramatic change from 6 years ago when we were engulfed in marriage problems and considering divorce. Thank god I came across Mort Fertel.
He single-handedly saved my marriage. I’m so grateful for him and my wife!
Today I plan to talk about an amazing lesson learned from Fertel’s “Marriage Fitness” program. I’ve mentioned it already but the timing is perfect to do so again because I’m experiencing its massive benefit right this moment!
Mini Vacations Are Integral To Keep Marriage Problems At Bay

Yup! Mort Fertel mentions the importance of mini vacations in Marriage Fitness and I’m a serious believer. Basically he mentions why it’s so important to go on mini vacations. It’s your way of becoming and staying connected to your spouse and keeping marriage problems at bay.
As for Denise and I, this is our 5th year in a row coming to Negril Jamaica.
We come without our children every year for about 4 nights making sure to cover the April 1st date – Denise’s birthday. What a great birthday and marriage present.
We explain it to others as our yearly getaway to discover why we love each other. We are having an amazing time and do so every year and it’s been instrumental in keeping our marriage problems from the past a distant memory.
What Connected Us Today?
Today as I write this, I’m sitting on my porch after a long hike up Mayfield Falls. Waterfalls you literally hike up. As part of it, you come across falls you can stand right under and get pummeled by the water.
There’s even a dark tunnel you can swim through and pop up in a shimmering blue lagoon. As long as you make it through that is!
The ability to experience this together with your spouse or loved one is an amazing connection. Our old marriage problems seem so distant they’re almost non-existent. I can’t believe we were so close to divorce. I was intent on stopping my divorce. Thank god for Fertel.
Mort Fertel’s Marriage Fitness Program Single Handedly Eliminated My Marriage Problems
Without his program I would never have thought of yearly mini vacations! What an amazing way to fix your marriage problems. It works and is an amazing way to reconnect with your spouse.
Mort Fertel’s Marriage Fitness program is full of wise nuggets like this. If you haven’t already, you can read some of my older posts where I talk about some other techniques I learned from Fertel. For example, talk charges!
They seem insignificant when you first learn of them but these talk charges can easily save your marriage. Just make sure to remember, they can’t be about your marriage problems but instead about sharing your daily life. The good, bad, funny and everything in between!
What Will Keep Your Marriage Connected?
It’s this type of activity that keeps you connected with your spouse through the day. Think of talk charges as the fuel designed to keep you connected within your marriage.
Trust me, when you are truly connected to your spouse, marriage problems are the last thing on your mind. Instead you are experiencing pure love!
And this is what Mort Fertel is amazing at doing through his Marriage Fitness program. He has discovered how to create love.
Love may be something you fell into when you first met your spouse but if you want to keep love in your marriage, you must learn how to create it at will.
